The
dog followed George G. McGunn everywhere that one June day; to the
post office, his office, the church, the store, and all the way to
the butcher shop. The dog wasn't anything special, just an average
mutt. George hated the idea of the mutt following him everywhere. He
could see his friends laughing at him, and heard his business
acquaintances say, “George always attracts the dirtiest mutts to
himself.”
George
asked the butcher for a large hunk of sausage. The butcher offered to
wrap it, but George said, “I'll take it unwrapped, but with a
string. I have a mutt to get rid of.”
George
took the sausage chunk and tied it to the bumper of a car, which was
stopped at the busy intersection. The car took off, and the dog ran
after, to retrieve the sausage on a string.
George
felt good. He had shaken off the dog, and done so in a most brilliant
manner. He was about to give his snarky business acquaintance
directions, when the dog reappeared. This time, the mutt had brought
along a half-dozen of his mutt buddies. After that, George G. McGunn
was no longer seen as the top dog; with his newest, canine travel
companions, he was truly in the dog house.
Hahaha, all he wanted to do was to get rid of his stalker!
